More about the Current Exhibition at the OSC Gallery

Students from schools across the Dehcho will see their photographs placed side-by-side with the work of professional photographer Linda MacCannell at the Open Sky gallery, starting January 24.

The exhibition, entitled Inquiry, marks the 35th anniversary of Judge Thomas Berger's tour of Dehcho communities and the publication of his final report in 1977.

Inquiry was the inspiration of Brian Jaffray, who is the Teacher Consultant at the Dehcho Divisional Education Council and President of the NWT Historical Fairs. The project combines two areas of his expertise, social studies and technology.

Last June he invited MacCannell, who has been an instructor in the Fine Arts Department of the University of Calgary for several years, to visit Dehcho schools. She showed students a collection of images from the original Berger Inquiry and then gave workshops in digital photography.
